Abstract

The Factors that influence Academic Performance has been of great interest for research over the years. The main objective of this research is to demonstrate that there are various factors that will alter the academic performance of students. The method was hypothetical Deductive with a quantitative approach, where, through a survey, it was applied to a sample that consisted of 160 technical nursing students from a technological institute in San Juan de Lurigancho. The results obtained show that social or sociological factors directly influence the academic performance of students when considering that the family, the institution, the community and the workplace will modify the responses to learning, where it either improves or worsens, with risks of dropping out. That is why it is proposed that educational institutions must have personnel that support this vulnerable group through a strategic plan that involves the student's environment plus even the family, so that high-quality professionals can be trained for the labor market.
