Abstract
Introduction. Priority is being given to strategic planning in investment management for the supply of public services through the national system of Multiannual Programming, Investment Management (Invierte.pe) Objective: Describe the deficiencies and strengths of public investment Materials - methods: Research was carried out in the execution of public investment such as Scopus, Redalyc, UNESCO, BCRP, etc. The research is qualitative-descriptive, with a non-experimental design. Results: Public investment in Peru presents deficiencies mainly due to the poor preparation of human resources to carry out all the processes that public investment involves, as well as planning to prioritize improvement in execution is not enough to achieve the ultimate goal that it is to contribute to the quality of life of the population. Given what has been analyzed, it is advisable to propose an investment management model in a dynamic, efficient way in public investment processes. Conclusion: It is concluded that the deficiencies in the execution of investment are due to the deficient capacity of human resources in investment projects, it is necessary according to the Peruvian reality to consider an investment management model to speed up the process of closing the gap for the development of the country.
