Abstract
The present work is an article on autonomous learning and its strategies in virtual environments. Its objective is to present what is understood by autonomous learning, the strategies that it develops, and its application in qualitative or quantitative research as well as to present a discussion on the topics of interest for the research. For this reason, the methodology that has been established is a systematic review of the information in the DOAJ and Scielo databases and is complemented with the search for articles in Google Scholar. It was possible to find information on autonomous learning, the strategies that favor its development, the use of virtual environments in student learning and related to autonomy, and additionally, what digital tools make it possible to carry out actions by the teacher and the student in this process of knowledge acquisition and student learning. It was determined that autonomous learning is important in the process of training students to achieve their goals, their objectives, considering that their motivation is an important part of this process.
